This photo is from the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, you can see all the bare trunks are from dead hemlock trees. A non-native invasive pest is killing wild hemlocks. By the end of this century they will only exist in cultivation where they can be protected from infestation. Click here for more about the extinction of hemlock.

Of course, you can wear this ring however you like, but it was designed with a flatter edge and a wavier edge. It is almost like the profile of a crown. The flatter edge will probably be more comfortable against the palm of your hand, with the wavy edge up.
