Sage leaves are magical- they have beautiful texture, they are soft, they smell delicious and they are healthy.
Each of these rings is cast from an individual leaf, grown in our backyard. The species we use is the sacred sage, or white sage (salvia apiana) that is native to the American southwest. Mediterranean sage used in cooking generally has larger, fatter leaves.
These rings vary because we use a different sage leaf to make each one. Unfortunately, we can’t photograph them all.

BRIGHT vs ANTIQUED - The antiqued rings have undergone a fast aging process, which leaves them darkened in the valleys and accentuates the ridges. The contrast and texture are softer in the bright, non-antiqued versions.
LEAF FRONT vs LEAF BACK - The front side has a smooth, leathery feeling to it, while the back reflects the crisper veins.
TALL vs SHORT - The width can vary from about ¾ of an inch to 1 ½ inches. The model in the photos was blessed with piano fingers. The rings she is wearing are a tiny bit over an inch.
STEM WRAP ACCENT - A few have a little bonus stem wrapping around the leaf
