Gold Vermeil Care Tips:

  1. Avoid Water & Moisture 💦

    • Take off your jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising.

    • Avoid exposing it to lotions, perfumes, or harsh cleaning products.

  2. Store Properly 📦

    • Keep it in a soft pouch or jewelry box to prevent scratches.

    • Store pieces separately to avoid friction with other jewelry.

  3. Clean Gently 🧽

    • Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a non-abrasive jewelry cloth.

    • If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with warm water and mild soap, then dry immediately.

  4. Avoid Excessive Rubbing ✋

    • Over-polishing can wear down the gold layer faster. Stick to gentle wiping.

  5. Wear with Care ✨

    • Put on your vermeil jewelry last after applying makeup, perfume, and lotions.

    • Remove rings before washing hands or using hand sanitizers.

What is Vermeil?

Gold vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a type of high-quality gold plating over sterling silver. To be considered true vermeil, the gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick and have a minimum karat of 10K. (We use 18k) This makes it more durable and valuable than standard gold-plated jewelry, which typically has a thinner gold layer over a base metal like brass or copper.

Because the base metal in vermeil is sterling silver, it is a good option for people with metal sensitivities. However, it can still wear down over time, especially if exposed to water, sweat, or harsh chemicals. Proper care, such as removing it before swimming or showering, helps maintain its appearance
